A cylinder musical box by Paillard Vaucher Fils (PVF) of St Croix in Switzerland number 6777. "Piccolo" format playing 8 airs as per original tune sheet. Cylinder 27.5cms length, case 50 x 21 x 15 cms / 20 x 9 x 6 ins. Brazilian Rosewood veneer to lid with boxwood stringing and a floral inlay, faux rosewood carcass. Mechanism and case restored.

Item Details Description Rare PVF, Polytype-Zither, 6-tune cylinder music box made by Paillard, Vaucher, Fils “PVF”) of Ste. Croix, Switzerland, bearing serial #91876 (1896-1897). A very scarce technical musical variant, which was essentially meant to provide its owner with 3 different musical formats in a single music box instead of normally requiring three separate music boxes for the same effects. CONDITION: This example plays two tune arrangements for each effect, in “Sublime Harmonie,” “Piccolo Zither” and “Tremolo Zither” musical formats. Fabulous, untouched original condition, no damages or repairs. Includes original winding handle. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 28" x 13" x 8 - 1/4".
