No. 3060, probably Paillard et Cie, playing six overtures on 'fat' cylinder, with 122 teeth in comb (complete), massive spring, engraved control plates and book-matched burr-walnut-veneered case with tulipwood banding and decorative handles, wd. 25 in. (64 cm), cylinder 13 ¼ in. x 3 ¼ in. Ø (33.8 cm x 8.3 cm)

Replacement tune-sheet, missing glass cover, lid split. - Program: "Elisa & Claudio" by Mercadante, "William Tell", "The Barber of Seville", "Semiramide" and "The Thieving Magpie" by Rossini, "Fra Diavolo" by Auber. Saverio Mercadante’s two-act opera, which premiered in Milan on 30 October 1821, is an unusual choice for a musical box but complements the predominantly Italian repertoire of this box well.
