Sallaz & Oboussier, St. Croix

In 1850 Edmond Fornachon made bedplates for Sallaz & Oboussier.

Sallaz & Oboussier

Ste-Crois, Switzerland. A maker of good quality cylinder musical-boxes c. 1840-50. Characteristic of the period, these had polished brass bedplates and the inner glass lid was visibly hinged on ist upper back edge instead of underneath as usual. Serial numbers were marked in small shaded numerals on the top left corner of the bedplate.
