292 An extremely fine diminutively-proportioned engraved gold sur-plateau musical snuffbox, by Piguet & Meylan, case by Jean-Geo. Reymond, Swiss, circa 1805, Ser.-N° 292, the plate corner stamped P[iguet] & M[eylan], with the double-sided pinned sur-plateau of 18 inner and 17 outer single teeth in typical linier-radial formation, playing a single complex air Six-stage escapement with runaway governor, engine-polished plates with velvet-contour finish, mounted within the rectangular case, with stamped lid interior, plain highly polished surfaces throughout and completely hidden hinge loop run, the lid and underside with decreasing circle ground, grape and flower trails with stylised diamond corners, repeated to all sides, the lid reserve with stepped mitre frieze, twin rectangular corner bosses and larger diamond rounded corners, start/stop slide to front-left, open winding arbour access to underside, with a period gold fob key of open heart-from trace – gold case weight 63 grams, total weight 114 grams, 2.5/8 inches (6.7cm) wide, 1.7/16 inches (3.6cm) deep, the height .11/16 inches (2cm), the sur-plateau diameter 1in.
