Palais Royale coromandal and engraved scallop shell musical necessaire with 22-part sectional comb cylinder movement N° 378 with the teeth in groups of three

Plain brass bedplate under glass dustlid, in teal green silk lined interior of four compartments, shaped period paper and cream silk lined implement tray comprising twin bobbins, scent bottle, pair of engraved winders with star hoops behind and looking glass tray mounts, bobbin holder, small awl, thimble, lace staff, scissors, large awl, large needle case and pin staff, with pansy PR crest to thimble, polished steel and gold fittings, prominent carved and polished mother-of-pearl bodies, to the green velvet topped tray, in the shell-form case with full looking glass lid interior, silver lid hinge, the top with whole domed scallop shell incised with geometric scrolls, fan leaves and tiny leaf trails, heightened with infill of lamp-black, of superb sheen and colours, the main body of coromandal, finished with regular single and double tandems of hand-cut miniature steel hob-nails with star formation cuts to the heads, escutcheon to front-centre, raised on four mother-of-pearl ball feet, start/stop and change/repeat to underside, with the period lid and winding keys
