Gueissaz, Visible Bells N° 22798

No. 22798, No. 7080 (on governor-cock), probably by Arthur Junod, playing twelve airs, with 61 musical and percussion teeth (complete, one neat tooth repair), drum, five bells and castanet, in grained case with facsimile tune-sheet, inlaid lid and pair of figural plaster (?) candle-holders modelled as a jester and a Mephistophelean character, the latter with indistinct incised mark "LS", wd. 25 ¼ in. (64 cm), cylinder 13 in. (33 cm), playing condition, spring somewhat loose in arbor - will require attention. The candle-holders are an unusual addition, apparently of the period, but probably not original to the musical box.
